Media Consultancy & Training
Insight. From the other side of the camera.
For nearly two decades I decided what a story was and which questions to ask. Now I help leaders and organisations tell theirs.
Built from
the
newsroom.
As a presenter and correspondent for ITV News, I presented political and current affairs programmes, led major news coverage and interviewed the biggest names in politics, business and public life. I asked the questions audiences wanted answered, and the ones interviewees hoped wouldn't come up.
The media isn't something to be afraid of. It's an asset to use well. I bring an outsider's view that knows what lands, what gets challenged and what builds trust.
I work with communications teams, leaders, charities and public and private bodies to get their story heard, and to be ready when the difficult questions come.
How I can help
Every engagement is built around your situation: your people, your challenges and the outcomes you need.
-
Rigorous, realistic preparation for the exact conversation coming your way, grounded in how the modern media works. So when a journalist rings for an interview or a statement, you're ready.
-
Stop sending press releases nobody reads. A practical programme for comms teams on how newsrooms decide what's a story, what editors look for and how to pitch so your coverage lands.
-
One-to-one coaching using Speak Human: The CLEAR Method®. Build the presence, clarity and composure to command a boardroom, a keynote stage or a hostile interview.
-
Think Like a Journalist® on stage, for conferences, away days and leadership teams. How the media really works, why most messages fail and how to land yours when it counts. For hosting and chairing, see Event Hosting.
How I think
I work with communications teams, leaders, charities and public and private bodies. Whether it's one moment or a longer-term relationship, the aim is the same: make sure you're ready.

-
Most stories fail before a journalist even reads them. Not because the story is wrong, but because it isn't told the way a newsroom thinks. I fix that.
-
Journalists don't necessarily tell the story you want them to tell. They look for the one you'd rather they didn't. I find the gaps before anyone else does.
-
Inside every organisation, the real story gets buried under process, legal caution and internal politics. I find it, then help you tell it.
-
The right preparation, done with insight, means that when the moment comes, you're not learning on the job.
