Everyone’s Talking About Wales
With a year to go until the Senedd election, a bombshell ITV Wales poll shook up the political landscape. Labour’s support collapsed, while Plaid Cymru and Reform surged — a major shift.
I covered the fallout on Sharp End and joined Iain Dale on LBC, as the story made waves beyond Wales. Suddenly, everyone was talking about what’s coming next.
Launching ITV Rewind – 70 Years of Stories
It was such a thrill to help launch ITV Rewind on ITVX – celebrating 70 years of ITV.
Three journalists, a load of classic clips, and the chance to share stories, memories, and a few laughs along the way. It’s a world away from the daily news grind - and that’s exactly what made it so much fun.
It’s always great to break out of the usual routine and show we’re not limited to just one gear.
Thanks to everyone who’s watched so far - and to ITV for trusting us with the trip down memory lane.
RTS Award Win for Wales at Six
Proud to share that Wales at Six has won a Royal Television Society award for our programme on the job losses at TATA in Port Talbot - a programme I where reported on the top story.
We were named RTS Nations & Regions Programme of the Year – no small thing, with fierce competition from across the UK. All three shortlisted programmes were from ITV News, which says a lot about the strength of the journalism across the board.
Back at JOMEC – Full Circle
I was delighted to return to Cardiff University’s School of Journalism to give a guest lecture - always a pleasure, but especially meaningful as a former student myself.
This time, I spoke about scripting and structuring for television news. The students were full of enthusiasm, sharp questions, and great ideas - it’s hard not to feed off that kind of energy.
Even better, I’ve since heard they’ve been putting some of my tips into practice, which is the best feedback I could ask for.
Thanks to the JOMEC team for the invite and to the students for being so engaged and switched on.
The future of journalism is in good hands.
First Appearance on RTÉ Radio 1
A first for me - appearing on Irish national radio. I joined RTÉ Radio 1 to talk about the major floods that hit parts of Wales at the end of 2024.
The brilliant Claire Byrne was presenting, and I was on just after the Taoiseach, which, was another first!
It was a real privilege to share insight from Wales with a wider audience and to reflect on the impact of the flooding.
Thanks to the RTÉ team for having me
