Interviewing Neil Kinnock as he turns 80 was a chance to explore both his political legacy and the personal stories that defined his journey. Through our conversation, I aimed to go beyond politics to uncover how his upbringing in the Valleys shaped his values and leadership. It was especially poignant to hear him speak so openly about his wife Glenys's battle with Alzheimer's—something the family hadn’t done until then.
